Well, maybe you should introduce him to Peter Potty instead. (No, I don't think that Peter and Scotty are related.)
Peter Potty is a child-sized urinal for your home. It even flushes--no plumbing required! The urinal is height adjustable so it can grow with your child and you can even mount it to the wall once he's outgrown the height settings.

The great thing about the Peter Potty is that you can teach your son how to stand from the beginning. Plus it'll make him feel like a "big boy" while he's learning. One of the few complaints I've heard about this product is that toddlers are sometimes a little too enthusiastic about flushing the urinal. If this is a problem, however, you can always leave the water reservoir empty. Just be sure to check it regularly so you can keep it clean!
Need help? Peter Potty has tips for how to potty train using their product here. Just ignore the part that says, "Your little guy will feel cool standing like his daddy, not sitting like a girl." Just what are you trying to say, Peter Potty??
