A Father's Day Gift for Dad and Baby

Mother's Day has come and gone but Father's Day is already just a few short weeks away. In honor of the daddies, I'll be blogging about some great products designed just for men and the special babies in their lives.

I'm excited to kick things off with the adorable onesies from Trend Lab. These onesies boast cute, tongue-in-cheek messages that are sure to make Dad smile. Plus they're made of 100% cotton so they're soft and comfy for baby. They come in two sizes: 0-3 months or 3-6 months. All of Trend Lab's onesies and layette sets are packaged beautifully, so they make very thoughtful, fun, and practical baby shower gifts as well.

I've been waiting and waiting to blog about these cute onesies for a while now, simply because they have a couple that are just perfect for Father's Day. For daughters, there's "Daddy's Girl" or "Daddy Does My Hair" in pink, of course. Both perfectly highlight the special bond between Dad and his favorite little girl.

For little boys there are some onesies that show that father and son aren't all that different. For example, there's "Small, Dark, and Handsome," perfect for the child destined to be tall, dark, and handsome--just like dad. Another that I like is the "Tool Man" layette set, for the baby who just can't get enough of dad and his favorite hobby.

Take a look at all the onesies and layette sets that Trend Lab has to offer at CSN Baby. You'll be sure to find one that's just right for the special Father and baby in your life!

Mia Bossi: Diaper Bags in Disguise

I'm so excited to tell you that CSN Baby is now carrying Mia Bossi diaper bags! These bags are perfect for stylish moms who don't want to compromise style for convenience. Celebrities agree. Many young, famous mommies have been seen carrying a Mia Bossi, like Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, and Tori Spelling. Even Paula Abdul has one, and she doesn't have a baby!

The Mia Bossi bag I have a big crush on right now is the Caryn Diaper Bag in Lipstick Red. I think it's pretty obvious why. It's just completely and unapologetically fabulous. This is the perfect bag for the mom with her own sense of style. In my opinion it's just a bonus that patent leather and bright colors have been trendy lately. I don't think red patent leather accessories ever go out of style.

And lest you think the Caryn bag is all show, let me give you a run down of some of its practical features. It has a zip-in and zip-out inside lining for easy clean up. Two external bottle holders, two front pockets and one private zippered pocket keep your mommy essentials in order. There's even holders for your diapers, cell phone, keychain and baby wipes. The straps have easy-open snaps to strap around stroller handles when you're on the go. And let's not forget about the animal print changing pad! Then there's my favorite part: the optional computer case insert. So when you no longer need a diaper bag you can switch out the baby insert for the computer case insert--and you've got a whole new bag!

Check out all the glam diaper bags by Mia Bossi at CSN Baby!

Breast-feeding on the Rise

I'm sure many of you have already heard about the recent government survey that suggests more than three out of four new moms now breast-feed their infants. This is the highest rate in the U.S. in at least 20 years.

I definitely support moms who choose to breast-feed. At the same time, my own mom chose not to and I support her decision, too. Moms need to make their own decision based on what is best for them, their families, and their bodies. For mothers who do make the decision to breast-feed, the Mayo Clinic offers a wonderful overview of the breast-feeding basics.

The part of the CNN article concerning the survey, which I found most interesting and frustrating, was at the very end. It stated that, "The latest CDC report found rates of breast-feeding were also lowest among women who are unmarried, poor, rural and younger than 20 and who have a high school education or less." It sounded a little accusatory to me, and I couldn't help thinking to myself, well, those women may not have the luxury to stay home and be constantly on call for feedings even if they wanted to.

And then I thought: I don't know any women who have the luxury to do that all the time. As we all know, being a mom is a full time job, but that doesn't mean it's a mom's only job.

Luckily, there are some simple, helpful products out there to make breast-feeding a little easier on busy, modern moms. One of them is Gerber's Seal 'n Go Pre-Sterilized Bags.

These self-standing bags won't tip over and spill and the zipper seal ensures that there won't be any leaks. They are also freezer safe. Pumping and storing breast milk can be a great compromise for women who work or go to school but who still want to breast-feed. The bags can be used with most disposable bottles and they come in packs of 25 bags.

You can find other helpful baby feeding products at CSN Baby. And Happy Mother's Day, with love from Mother Goose!

Mother's Day Splurge: A Brag Book

So Mother's Day is this weekend and while there's nothing more rewarding than being a mom, it is nice to get presents once in a while. One Mother's Day gift that I really love this year, is Timi and Leslie's Femme Chic Leather Brag Book.

This Brag Book makes it easy and chic to show off your favorite baby photos whether you're hanging out with the in-laws or dining with friends. The quilted leather is oh so refined while the inside is plenty practical: it holds up to 36 standard size (4" x 6") photos. A leather tab keeps the book neatly closed when you're not sharing it with family and friends.

This is the perfect Mother's Day splurge. And at under $100 you don't even have to feel guilty! Practical moms who would never bother with a high fashion, leather diaper bag can luxe up their look with this leather brag book, while high-powered working moms can take their baby photos on business trips and no one need ever know--unless they want them too, of course. The stylish moms at MomFinds.com even named Timi and Leslie's Brag Book one of the top Mother's Day gifts of 2008.

Don't wait for someone to give this to you--buy it for yourself at CSN Baby. Or give it to another new mom you love and make her feel like a million bucks while she shows off her baby photos in style!
