Stroller Envy: Silver Cross Prams

Excuse me, let me just wipe the drool from my mouth as I gaze longingly at photos of the Heritage Collection of prams by Silver Cross.

Maybe you've experienced some drooling yourself while flipping through the recent People Magazine featuring Jennifer Lopez and her new twins, Max and Emme. These lucky babies received matching Balmoral Prams from Eva Longoria Parker and Tony Parker. Nicole Kidman is also said to have ordered a Silver Cross Balmoral Pram recently for her new baby. And that's only the tip of the Silver Cross celebrity iceberg!

What I'm trying to say here is that these prams are nothing less than the very best on the market. I don't anticipate owning one in this lifetime but if the Longoria Parkers decided to send me one as a baby gift, well, let's just say I would write them a very nice thank you note. (and it would even be on time!)

Let's get to the stats. Just what, you are wondering, makes this pram so special (and expensive)? For starters it's got a reclining hood, lever operated break system, and a safe steel construction. It also comes with an apron, luxurious mattress, diaper bag, and chrome shopping tray. It's suitable for newborns and babies up to 30 lbs.

This pram is truly an heirloom-worthy work of art. It's upholstered with fine English leather and features a solid wood handle as well as chrome spoked wheels. The ultimate in luxury, all the fine lining is done by hand and you even receive a certificate of authenticity with your pram, which is personally signed by the fine craftsman who made it!

I'll admit, it's not exactly the most practical baby purchase one could make, but when I think about pushing the Balmoral Pram around my neighborhood (make that estate)...my palms get sweaty. If you can afford to pamper your baby, a Silver Cross pram is the perfect way to start!

Baby Gifts Ideas: A Sonogram Frame by Kidkraft

When my friend had a baby last August, I spent hours trying to find the perfect baby shower gift. I wanted it to be something memorable and sentimental, but also something practical. I wouldn't have had to spend so much time worrying if I'd known about Kidkraft's sweet and unique Sonogram Frame.

The Sonogram Frame is designed specifically to display baby's very first photo. It comes in Pink for a girl with the phrase, "Girls are sugar and spice and everything nice" or Blue for a boy with the phrase, "Boys are snips and snails and puppy dog tails".

This frame makes a thoughtful gift because it's something that parents will proudly display both before and long after the birth of their baby. And unlike some baby gifts, this one can't be outgrown! It's also a cute, fun way for parents to let friends and family know which they're having.

Check back for more baby gift ideas in the future, and in the meantime you can browse our Gifts for Baby category at CSN Baby. Happy shopping!

Stroller Alert: Mutsy's Slider

If you love to be in the know about the latest, greatest, and hippest strollers, then read on!

Mutsy is a company that has been making strollers since 1937! Needless to say, they have a lot of experience. They recently unveiled a new stroller known as the Slider.

The Slider has an attractive, modern design. It comes in three colors: Red, Green, and White (shown). I have to admit, as much as I love orange (and I do), it's nice to see something different on the market. The white (shown here) is really eye-catching but I also like the Green, which is a subtle, moss green. All three colors would work for a boy or a girl.

One really innovative aspect of this stroller is its compactness. The Slider frame consists of 2 parts: the upper part, configured as a bassinet, baby/toddler seat or travel system (Graco or Maxi Cosi car seats work, as long as you have an adapter). The entire upper part detaches from the base, so the frame folds up extremely small. The wheels are also removable to make the frame even more compact!

The Slider is also very lightweight and maneuverable. Two large front swivel wheels make it easy to travel over cobbstone or uneven city streets. Brake pedals on either side and a single-hand, easily adjustable foam-grip handle make this stroller easy and comfortable to use.

Something Neat for Baby's Feet!

The weather's getting warmer, the days are getting longer, and everyone's venturing outside for some fresh air...especially baby! If you're wondering what to put on your baby's feet, try Modern Basics' Baby Slippers!

It can be hard to get those cute, wriggling feet to stay still so thank goodness these slippers come with cross-over velcro straps to make life a little easier. The slippers are also made of soft, flexible canvas (70% Cotton and 30% Polyester) so they can protect your baby's feet without squeezing them. The lining is made of soft 100% terry cloth and the flexible, textured rubber sole is perfect for indoor or outdoor use.

You can spot clean these slippers as needed or toss them in the washing machine when you're on the go! You gotta love that.

Plus, the designs of these comfortable slippers are really cute. From hippos to dragonflies and from brown to pink, you'll find just the right fit for your special someone. These shoes would also make a great gift for a baby shower or a first birthday.
